Our Team

We are passionate about training and progression for our staff, to further their roles at the nursery.

We arrange training for staff but also ask them for their ideas and allow them to choose training to meet their individual needs.

We recruit staff for the nursery by distributing an advert locally, asking for CVs. We read through the CVs and check qualifications are full and relevant in childcare. We then invite candidates for interview.

We meet with candidates, we ask questions relating to the standards of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.  If the candidate is successful past the initial interview stage they will then be invited to meet the nursery staff and the children for a second interview.  If there are a few successful candidates then we will make a decision based upon qualifications and suitability.

Once offered we check references, carry out a health check and a DBS.

The house that jack built is like an extension to my family. They have been through my ups and downs with me and have helped me become the person I am today. The children are at the heart of all activities that are planned and carried out at nursery. All resources are chosen with children’s interest and developmental needs in mind. My little one loves to attend the nursery and is very excited to see her key worker every morning.

The house that Jack Built Nursery is a very welcoming setting. The team work so hard together and put the children’s care and development at the heart of everything they do. The staff form great relationships with the children as well as the parents. The resources we have at the nursery helps the children’s curiosity, imagination, and develops, challenges and extends all children’s learning. The nursery has lots of events that go on throughout the year, which gets families and staff all involved - a lovely community feel!
